superficial.

Ugh ~ Society can be an ugly place sometimes. People judge and create discriminations where there shouldn’t be.

What I hate more is the fact and process of how this discrimination starts. It ultimately all needs to just stem from one source which opens up a door to a world of hatred and ignorance, leading to nowhere.

I don’t understand why people cannot overlook the superficial and focus on what’s important - We live in a society that puts so much emphasis on external and physical beauty and appearance that when we even mention any other type of beauty it fades off into the background because someone is not strong enough to push it out front for the world to see.

We all care about what other people will think, more or less but what bothers me most is why people choose to blend into the crowd rather than taking a stand for something they know and believe in. Reminds me again about how a large part of this world and its people are all talk, but no walk.

Words can only do so much; That’s why actions speak louder.

And I don’t understand how people must always focus on the negatives as well. Why can’t they see the positives and the beauty in something AS IT IS rather than thinking about how better this could be and picking out the teeny tiny flaws of it or whoever. Perfection is impossible because perfection is subjective; If you keep expecting people to be perfect because you think that you clear the bar then you’re in for a world of disappointment. Focus on what matters! When Adele was told to lose weight by her manager she said “I love food, I hate to exercise. I write music for ears, not for eyes” she focused on what was important to her and her purpose. Her music. Her song. Sure she’s a big woman and may not be the perfect definition of ‘beautiful’ but she doesn’t have to be when she writes music that the word ‘beautiful’ cannot even BEGIN to describe.

Also what’s the hype about appearance? Personality vs. Appearance, yadda yadda yadda who gives? We all know personality trumps appearance. My logic? Appearance can easily change; Personality not so much. So when I define someone as beautiful, I do so as if I was blind. As it should be.

Why can’t my mum do the same…
